mission is simple: We provide our members with the best set of tools and resources to locate many different types of public records to allow anyone to find out the truth about anyone else.
How Do I Log In to My Account? Please go to GovDatalink.org/password.php, and enter your username (email address) and password and click on the submit button to enter the member’s area.
What Type of Data is Available? Although data availability may vary depending on your specific search, our data records service offers a large volume of different types of public record information. As a Public Information Broker, we do not provide any non-publicly available information such as any credit based data, medical records, driving records, insurance records, employment history, social security numbers or any other information that is not made available to the general public.
How Much Does it Cost? The price range varies, depending on the records or services ordered. Some records cost as little as $9.95, and others go up to $29.95 and more. The full price of the records you want to ordered will be clearly and conspicuously disclosed before you incur any charges. We do not do any automatic re-billing. When you make a purchase, it's a one-time charge only.
How Many Records Can I Retrieve? There is no limit to the number of records a Member can retrieve in our Members' Area. Remember that there will be a charge associated with retrieving each record, but you will be clearly told the cost up front before you retrieve the record. Also, please bear in mind that some states do not permit access to certain types of criminal records, or may restrict the types of information that can be retrieved by a criminal search. As a result, not all searches will return reports or records.
Can I Perform Employee Background Checks Using Your Criminal Data? GovDatalink.org is not a consumer reporting agency as defined under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ("FCRA"), and the information in our databases has not been collected in whole or in part for the purpose of furnishing consumer reports, as defined in the FCRA. You may not use the Websites or Data to: (a) establish an individual's eligibility for personal credit or insurance; (b) assess risks associated with existing consumer credit obligations; or (c) evaluate an individual for employment, promotion, reassignment or retention (including employment of household workers such a nannies, housekeepers, or contractors) or in conjunction with assessing the merits of entering into any other personal business transaction with another individual ("Unauthorized Purposes").
Do You Provide Birth Certificates? No. We provide Birth Records, which may include the person's Full Name, Birth City, Birth State and Full Date of Birth.
Do You Provide Death Certificates? No. We provide Death Records, which may include the Full Name, Date of Birth, Date of Death and City and State of Death.
Do You Provide Marriage Certificates? No. We provide Marriage Records, which may include the Bride's Name and Age, Groom's Name and Age, Marriage Date, County & State of Filing and Filing Number.
Do You Provide Divorce Decrees? No. We provide Divorce Records, which may include the Petitioner's Name, Respondent's Name, Date of Filing, State of Filing and Filing Number.
Do You Provide Social Security Numbers? We are not a credit reporting agency and we are prohibited by law from releasing non-public information such as Social Security Numbers/Records or Credit Reports to non licensed entities. Our Social Security Search/Verification allows you to check the validity of the provided Social Security Number.
Do You Provide Credit Reports? We are not a credit reporting agency and we are prohibited by law from releasing non-public information such as Credit Reports to non licensed entities.
Where Does Your Data Come From? Our Data comes from a variety of sources including Public Records and private data brokers. We do our best to maintain accurate and complete records, but like any human endeavor mistakes may sometimes be made. If you find a record in our Members' Area that you feel is inaccurate, feel free to report it to us and we will pass the message along to the proper department. You must be especially careful interpreting Criminal Records. While our Criminal Report can provide useful information, please use extreme caution in interpreting the results of any criminal background search. A positive match does not guarantee the nature or even existence of an individual's criminal record. GovDatalink.org is not responsible for explaining or analyzing Criminal Search results. Will GovDatalink Automatically Re-Bill Me? No. GovDatalink does not automatically re-bill anyone. Any purchase you make on our website is a one-time transaction only. We may link to other websites (Third-Party Websites") from our site, and if you access a Third Party Website you will need to read the Third-Party Website's Terms & Conditions and payment policies, because their policies may differ from our own, and it's possible that they might have a re-billing policy.
Will I Receive a Receipt? Yes, you will recieve a receipt by email after any purchase you make on our website.
How Will I Receive the Records I Order? After you make your records purchase, you will need to log in to our Members' Area (see above for instructions), and there you will be able to access records. Please note that you will not receive an email of the records your ordered, and you will not receive the records via regular mail. You can only access the records in our Members' Area.
What is the 1 Year Search Pass? The 1 Year Search Pass gives you access to basic search information in our Members' Area. By using the 1 Year Search Pass, you can locate exactly what record(s) you want, and you can then order those record(s). Additional fees may apply whenever you order records based on the basic search results, but for 1 Year Search Pass Members there is no additional charge for the basic search results.
Will the Person I'm Researching Be Notified That I Researched Them? No. All of the searches you perform on our website are confidential.
Why Does the Data Obtained in the Preliminary Search Sometimes Differ from What I Received in the Members' Area? The non-paid preliminary search on our website is for demonstration purposes only, and is to ascertain whether our site is fully functional at the time of the search (ie, server is not down), and as such, the non-paid preliminary search results are not binding. In order to receive search results, you must pay the fee(s) listed on our secure payment page and log into our Members' Area with your username and password.
